India got off to a dream start yesterday. The fact that India will not fare well under overseas conditions started diminishing as early as the first over when Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a beauty to Deal Elgar and got him caught behind without troubling the scorers.
Then suddenly he also accounted for Makaram and Amla and in no time South Africa was reeling at 12 for 3 which had taken the internet by storm. Then came in a man who they call him ‘Superman’- AB de Villiers. With a bit of help from his captain Faf de Plessis, they both stitch a wonderful century partnership which helped South Africa get out of the hole India dug for them.
De Villiers was the highest run scorer for the Proteas who played wonderful counter-attacking innings of 64 runs of just 84 balls at a strike rate touching almost 80. That’s extraordinary considering the ball was doing so much and the fact that South Africa was in a spot of bother.
In a recent interview, Bhuvneshwar Kumar did admit that it would have been nice to get the right-handed batsman from South Africa’s wicket early as he took a complete session or two away from the Indians. No Bhuvi did not stop here and further confessed that there is nobody better than De Villiers in the world at the moment and he is the best in the entire cricketing circuit.
