Captain Kohli Reveals The Main Reason Of Selecting Rohit Sharma Instead Of Ajinkya Rahane
Everyone was surprised at toss time during the first Test Match between India and South Africa due to a few selections Captain Kohli made. The biggest shocker of them all was the fact that Ajinkya Rahane did not get selected in the playing X1 despite of being one of the best overseas batsmen in the team.
Having said that, the jury is out because India lost if we would have won, or Rohit Sharma would have scored well, there would have been no fuss about this issue. While I have nothing against Kohli going with his gut because this is the way it should be, I really feel saddened on how Rahane has been treated over all these years with no fault of his. Neither of his captain to be honest because such is the composition and strength of the Indian Team.
Everyone was wondering and have been talking about why Rahane wasn’t picked. Well, the man himself- Virat Kohli decided to answer it for once in for all. The Indian Captain stated that he went on current form and the fact that Rahane did not have a good series vs Sri Lanka went against him.
Rohit, on the other hand, was in great form. While a few do agree with Kohli’s reasoning, there is the other side which feels that it was quite silly to drop your best overseas player who did so well during the last tour of South Africa.
Cric Crak would love to know your opinion on this one. Do you think Kohli made the right move and things like these can happen in sport? Or do you think it went all wrong for the Indian Captain when it came to making a decision in regards to Ajinkya Rahane?
