The Real Reason Of Rohit Sharma Not Opening The Batting For Mumbai Indians Will Make You Love Him Even More

One of the major talking points of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season has been – ‘ Why Is Rohit Sharma Not Opening The Batting For The Mumbai Indians?’ The 29 year- old has finally revealed why he is playing in the middle order instead of opening the batting which he does the best!

Rohit said, “I would love to open, but certain things you got to think from the team’s perspective as well. Being the captain of the team – you have to think about the right balance. Batting at four (or) three gives us the balance we want. Last year we felt that we wanted someone to just bat till the end and it wasn’t happening and we weren’t able to finish (some) games.”

“This is probably one of the reasons I have to take that decision to come down at three (or) four. I am open to anything. Whatever the team requires. If we see, where I have to go and open, I will go and open also. I am not closing my options. Right now probably three (or) four is the best position.”

Cric Crak does acknowledge that Rohit Sharma has sacrificed the batting position he loves the most in regards to the team balance but also feels that if Sharma does open it will surely help the team more in the longer run as he does have the appetite to score big and hit those monster sixes once he settles down.

Yes, Mumbai is right up there in the points table in spite of that but with Rana in great form at number 3 and the Pandya Brothers performing the role of finishers like never before. Cric Crak really feels and wishes to see ‘Hitman’ back to his usual opening slot. He could easily replace Jos Butler who could be a perfect Number 4 for Mumbai Indians and surely be the X- Factor they are looking for. We all know how destructive Butler could be in those middle overs and how easily he could clear the boundary rope with the power he has.

Cric Crak wishes more power to the most successful Mumbai Indians Captain ever and salutes him for his strategy and team selection till now in the IPL 2017. Mumbai surely does have one of the most balanced team this season with the perfect blend of batsmen, bowlers and all- rounders and are surely a major threat to all the other franchises this season.

More Power To Rohit Sharma!
