3 players who can break Rohit’s highest ODI score record!
Rohit Sharma has been a phenomenon when it comes to white ball cricket in the last 4-5 years. He is the only player to score multiple double hundreds in ODI cricket and his record breaking 5 centuries in the World Cup will take some beating.
One record which will be even harder to break will be his score of 264 against Sri Lanka. Having said that, three potential candidates who might have an outside chance to break this record are;
1) Jason Roy – Much like Rohit, Jason Roy is a destructive right-handed opener who has the gift of timing. On a beautiful batting day, it is not beyond the maverick to go hell for leather and with a bit of luck break the 264 milestone.
2) Aaron Finch – Openers face the most deliveries and therefore have a better chance to score big runs. That’s why it’s no surprise that all potential candidates are openers. Australian Captain Aaron Finch already boasts of the highest score in a T20I having scored 168. And scoring those many runs in 20 overs well and truly puts him in contention for overtaking Rohit.
3) David Warner – One of the most devastating cricketers in the world, Warner is probably the favourite to breach Mount 264. It’s true that he has changed his game in a bid to be more consistent but there is no denying his power.
