As Asia Cup draws to an end, with the final being played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan on 12th September 2022, on a sunday evening in Dubai. According to the list of matches scheduled prior to the grand finale, Pakistan and Sri Lanka had to go head to head in an inconsequential match for both teams on Friday evening. It was like a trailer as to what the fans had in store before the big match.

The Sri Lankan Captain, Dasun Shanaka managed to win the toss and put the Pakistani team in to bat first. The conditions in Dubai have always been favorable for teams batting as second as the dew factor later in the evening makes it very hard for the bowlers to get a grip on the ball, so any target is possible to chase at this venue.

Pakistan batting order totally collapsed, it was a horrendous show for the Pakistan Cricket fans who were present for the match. The opening order batsman and captain, Babar Azam was the highest scorer in the team with 30 runs to show in his kitty, but the team got bundled out for a mere 121 runs in just 19.1 overs. Wanindu Hasaranga bagged 3 wickets in the spell of his 4 overs.

While during the chase a very hilarious incident occurred, where on a delivery bowled by Hasan Ali to Dasun Shanaka, the wicket-keeper, Mohammad Rizwan appealed for a caught behind and the umpire instantly happened to say NOT OUT, Rizwan who looked to be pretty confident, immediately called for a review. In between all this Babar Azam was left stunned.
