Dale Steyn speaks about the time when he was in a ‘hotel arrest’
The Covid-19 pandemic has brought the entire sporting and event world to a standstill and stalled major sporting events like the ATP tour, Australian Grand Prix, Premier league football etc.
Cricket is no exception and all International series have been either called off or indefinitely postponed with immediate effect. The PSL, which was in its latter stages has also been stalled and various international players were given strict instructions to not step out of the hotel until they fly off to their home country.
One of these cricketers was South African superstar Dale Steyn and he recently spoke about the time in Pakistan when they were ‘hotel arrested’. The speedster who was plying his trade for Islamabad United said that they had to follow protocol and stay in the hotel, avoiding the streets.
He also added that how the world feels incomplete without any live sport and this author couldn’t agree more. Steyn added that generally on holidays he would be planning a surfing trip or a fishing trip but right now he’s just staying at home. Let’s see how this pans out and here’s hoping that these difficult times pass quickly and we have live sport soon.
