Gautam Gambhir is known to be someone who speaks his mind and whether that results in controversy or not, he’s doesn’t seem to bother about it. Recently, Rohit Sharma celebrated his 33rd birthday and while everyone else wished the star by blessing the Hit-man, Gauti said he was the best white ball batsman in the world currently.
This no doubt irked Virat fans and the southpaw had to bear the wrath of social media warriors who reminded Gambhir of the fight between the two Delhi teammates in the IPL and also pointed that out as the reason for the left-hander’s ‘vindictiveness’. This is because one look at the records is enough to tell one that Virat is a far superior player than Rohit. However, Gambhir sought to explain why he said what he said.
Here’s the left hander’s reasoning “I think he (Rohit) is the best white-ball cricketer in the world right now. He is not the greatest overall but at the moment he is the best. He is the only player to have hit 3 ODI double hundreds, 5 World Cup hundreds (in one edition) and he is also the only player, who once gets past 100-run mark, people say that he missed a double century.”
