India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2018 Winner Prediction

While India has always got the better of Pakistan in T20 cricket, this one is certainly not going to be easy, certainly not without their regular captain Virat Kohli.

They are still to solve their number 4 problem and it seems like Ambati Rayadu will be the latest recruit to be tried out at that position. The bowling looks quite strong though with the men in blue having all bases covered but one of Dhoni or Hardik Pandya will need to take up the responsibility of shifting gears in the last 10 overs. The top order looks quite settled with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul set to occupy the top three spots.

Considering it spins in Dubai, it will not be surprising if Rohit Sharma plays both Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. The right arm fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is all set to make a comeback and would be looking to make an impact when it matters the most after mere formality against Hongkong.

Pakistan, on the other hand, has a battery of fast bowlers which have all the ability to trouble the best in the world on their given day. With Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Shabad Khan Pakistan boast of a bowling attack any team would be envy of. Not to forget their newly found all-rounder Asaf Ali and Imad Wasim who is also making a comeback and is expected to slot directly in the playing XI.

On the other hand, for the first time ever after years, their batting unit looks settled with Fakhar Zaman, Imam Ul Haq and Babar Azam doing a great job in the top 3 with Shoaib Malik and Sarfaraz to follow.

Having said that, India certainly has better balance. Pakistan and are more likely to click as a unit. Individual brilliance hardly works in team-sport and for the men in green to topple India at-least 6-7 players would need to click for them which looks unlikely. India, on the other hand, has experience on their side and with everyone knowing their roles to perfection in limited overs cricket unlike in England. Cric Crak predicts India to win the match on the 19th of September.

Having said that, expect a cracker of game like it always has been in the case of India vs Pakistan matches. Pakistan has shown a lot of quality and India will need to sweat it out till their last breath in order to win this one. Pakistan’s best chance of winning might be by hoping they win the toss and put India in and then follow it up by early wickets. Remember this is no Virat Kohli and a few of those players are rusty in the middle order.

We would love to know your opinion on this one. While we feel the ‘Men In Blue’ would just about edge a quality Pakistan side, what do you think? What is your India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2018 winner prediction?  Do let us know your opinion in the comments section below.
