The cricketing ties between India and Pakistan have only worsened over the last few years and the Pulwama attack will not certainly make matters worse. The arch rivals are all set to lock horns in the upcoming game of the ICC World Cup 2019 in Old Trafford Manchester and by the looks of things, there is a serious possibility of the game being called off.
When the ICC Chairman Rajiv Shukla was asked to express his views on the same, he did not completely deny the possibility of a possible call-off. While he did not completely confirm the news either, he did promise to abide by whatever the Government Of India decides and looking at the current scenario, a call- off is certainly on the cards.
Shukla further added that he and the Indian Board always try to keep politics and cricket separate but for that, the terrorist attacks would need to stop. The Chairman also believed that this attack clearly means that Indo-Pak cricketing ties are clearly going down the drain and it would only get worse from here.
In case the game is called off, India and Pakistan still might meet each other during the knock-out phase of the tournament and the International Cricket Council will need to do some serious thinking on how to counter that bouncer.
