In some breaking news coming in the left handed South Paw from India is all set to retire from the Indian Premier League. Raina who wasn’t retained by the CSK did not find any takers either in the IPL 2022 auction.

According to a report in Dainik Jagran, Raina has already communicated this decision to the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and is expected to make an official annoucement soon. Raina amassed above 5000 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League and would always be remembered as one the faces of the IPL.

Having said that, The Uttar Pradesh born batsmen believes that there are still a couple of years of cricket left in him and he would like to apply his trade towards various T20 leagues across the globe. In order to do that and get a NOC from the BCCI, he would have needed to step down irrespective.

Interestingly, the owner of Chennai Super Kings recently invested in an International franchise called Johannesburg Super Kings and if all goes well- Who Knows? We might just see Raina playing for the Super Kings yet again … This time though in the CSA T20 League.
