After missing the last test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the right-handed Mumbai born batsman- Rohit Sharma, is back in action leading up to India’s first ODI against Australia.
While Rohit and Ritika wee blessed with a baby girl whom they decided to name Samaira, the celebrations have still not ended. While Rohit was addressing the media ahead of the first game, a reporter named Sunandan Lele decided to wish the vice-captain of the Indian Cricket Team in a very special way.
He gifted a toy to Rohit Sharma during the press conference and also let him know that this is on the behalf of the entire media fraternity. The ‘Father’ in Rohit gently smiled in return and was overwhelmed by their kind gesture. He also believed that rather than accepting gits, he should be the one to celebrate it by distributing sweets soon.
While we leave you with the video, a lot will be expected by the right-handed opening batsman from India in the upcoming ODI series. Rohit averages above 70 during his previous 2 tours to Australia and the onus would certainly be on him to provide his team with a good start.
Meanwhile, the Indian Team missed their outdoor practice session which was scheduled due to rain and bad weather and would be hoping to get a decent hit out in the middle before Saturday. The first ODI will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground and the 2 teams can’t wait for the action to get underway. India will once again start as overwhelming favourites, especially after the test series win but Virat Kohli and his men would know that it would be naive of them to take the Australians lightly, especially in their own conditions and we will leave it to that. May the best team win!
