The ODI series between the Indian Cricket Team and the Australian Cricket Team is all set to get underway and cricket fans from both sides of the globe certainly can’t’ keep calm!
While India certainly starts as overwhelming favourites, the Australians would be looking to come hard at India their home-turf. Yes, they might not come in with the same swagger owing to their recent test series defeat but they would still like to believe that if they play like the ‘Defending Champions’, there is every chance that they could give Virat Kohli and his boys a run for their money.
While everyone was wondering what kind of playing XI would the Australians turn up with, Aaron Finch decided to put all conversations to end by announcing the playing XI a day before their first One Day International against the Indian Cricket Team which is scheduled to be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The biggest surprise of them all was the return of the fast bowler Peter Sidle who has found a place in the team after 9 long months. Australia’s new sensation, Ashton Agar has unfortunately not managed to find himself a place in the playing XI. He was the ‘Hero’ in the ongoing Big Bash League and has had a great domestic run in the recent past. Alex Carey will open the batting along with Aaron Finch while Nathan Lyon is all set to handle the spin bowling responsibilities.
Meanwhile, here is Australia’s playing XI:
Aaron Finch (c), Alex Carey (wk), Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Lyon, Peter Siddle, Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff.
