Alzarri Joseph got 6 wickets for 12 runs and recorded the best IPL figures in the history of the tournament. Ever since he hasn’t even completed his entire quota of 4 overs in 2 consecutive games and the jury is already terming him as a ‘One Hit Wonder’.
Ever since his magical debut, Joseph has bowled 5 overs and conceded 75 runs without picking up a single wicket. While many have been upset in regards to his performance, especially because he is playing at the expense of Lasith Malinga, his captain Rohit Sharma has come out in defense of the young man.
When asked to comment about the fast-bowlers dual failures, Hitman stated that anyone can have a few off-days in T20 cricket and promised for Joseph to come good very soon. He also felt that Alzarri bowled quite well but admitted that an in-form ‘Butler’ in the house was quite difficult for the Mumbai Indians to handle.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and his men will be up against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore next and the fans from both sides can’t stop doing double cart-wheels in their backyard. Mumbai playing at home will start as certain favourites to win this one but RCB would know that if Mumbai could be toppled at home, they could start to dream all over again and we will leave it to that.
