Former Australian skipper Micheal Clarke has made a head turning statement on a breakfast show when he claimed that the Australian Cricket team ‘sucked up’ to Kohli and co due to the hefty contracts they get in the IPL.
He further went on to say that not just Australia, but other teams in the World are also going soft on Indians, owing to their participation in the cash-rich league in April-May. Clarke, who himself played for the now defunct Pune franchise believed that this has helped the Indian team on their tours.
In the auctions, Australian players like Pat Cummins (15.5 cr), Glenn Maxwell (10.75cr) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (8 cr) were in high demand. However, one didn’t realise if Clarke was saying that not sledging Kohli was the reason India came up trumps against the Australians. Because if that were the reason then the well-behaved kiwis should have also faced Kohli’s wrath but that didn’t quite happen.
