Micheal Hussey aka Mr Cricket is the personification of the never-day-die attitude that is often spoken about in sport. Hussey, who had a scintillating international career for Australia went on to score more than 12000 runs across formats and averaged a solid 51.52 and 48.15 in tests and ODIs respectively. However, it wasn’t all very smooth going for the southpaw as he had to go through the hard grind of first class cricket and only in his 30th year did he get an International break.
Hussey, who called time on his international career in 2013 has also represented many franchises in various T20 leagues including the IPL. Hussey, who was captained by Ricky Ponting for most of his international career has also played under MS Dhoni in the yellow army. When asked which of the two champion captains is a better ODI skipper according to him, the elegant left-hander sheepishly named Ricky Ponting. Much like his batting, his reason was pretty solid as he stated that since he has never played under MS Dhoni in an ODI he would choose his fellow Australian as the better ODI skipper.
