The ongoing Road Safety World Series is proving to be a candy shop for the nineties’ and noughties’ kids with a lot of their favorite cricketers coming out of retirement for a noble cause. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Brian Lara, Jonty Rhodes, Muttiah Muralitharan, etc have all come out and decided to put on a show.
In the third game of the ongoing series, the Indian Legends clashed with the Sri Lankan legends in Mumbai at the DY Patil Stadium. Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put the Sri Lanka legends to bat. The Lankans made a decent start with Romesh Kaluwitharana and Tillakaratne Dilshan both getting to their twenties and then getting out. The latter got holed out in the deep while going for a mighty heave and was caught smartly by none other than India’s very own Jonty Rhodes i.e. Mohammed Kaif.
In the 18th over of the Sri Lankan Legends innings, Chamara Kapugedera who was batting on 23 flicked a Zaheer Khan delivery towards the mid-wicket boundary and the ball seemed to be going for four when who else but Mohammed Kaif dove to his right to complete a bonafide stunner. It reminded everyone of the incredible fielding ability the former Uttar Pradesh batsman possessed and still possesses. Kaif also went on to score a valuable 46(45) in India’s chase.
