Ever since Yuvraj Singh has hung his boots as an International cricketer, he has been making a lot of allegations and expressing his displeasure with the team management. Be it him accusing the Ravi Shastri-Virat Kohli duo of conspiring against him even after he passed the Yo-Yo test or him saying that MS Dhoni favoured Suresh Raina over him. Yuvraj Singh is an outspoken person in general and it seems that retirement has given him the freedom to reveal his side of the story without too many hindrances.
While it is upto Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri to respond to the allegations made against them, Suresh Raina has come out in defence of his CSK captain MS Dhoni. In a recent media interaction, Raina said that Mahi understood the talent he possessed and hence backed him to the hilt. He also said that there were some times when Dhoni used to warn him about taking a big step and that would be enough for Raina to concentrate harder and come up with the goods.
“I would say MS definitely supported me, he supported me because he knew I have talent, I’ve done it for him, CSK and Team India, whenever he supported me. The best part about him is that he will tell you after two games, ‘If you don’t score, I’ve to take a big step.’ I said just give me one or two games, I will make sure not to repeat mistakes,” Raina said while speaking to Fancode.
