The Covid-19 pandemic has well and truly reached stage 3, where there is mass transmission of the virus. This is a critical time for India and it’s more important than ever to maintain social distancing and remain indoors. The PMO has been closely monitoring the situation and there has been a PM Cares fund that has been created for donations to help fight the terror of Coronavirus.
This morning at 9am, the Prime Minister addressed the nation and yet again underlined the seriousness of the situation. The concern is that a handful of people are not taking the countrywide lockdown seriously and their actions can have a catastrophic effect on the society at large.
Mr Modi has relied a lot on celebrities and in particular cricketers to help spread the message. In another such exercise, the Prime Minister is set to hold a video conference with BCCI chief and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. In attendance will also be Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, two of the biggest influencers in the country. If sources are to be believed then there might be a brief mention of the IPL by Ganguly too. All one can hope is that something fruitful comes out of the meeting and India unites to fight Covid – 19.
