Rahul Dravid is a true gentleman and his demeanour on and off the field is exemplary. One never saw Rahul Dravid misbehave in a long career and rarely did he ever lose his temper. In fact, he seemed unflappable and nothing ever got to him.
Indo-Pak encounters are always high-octane and it can ruffle the most balanced people. On one such occasion, even Rahul Dravid lost his cool on Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar. The match was an ICC Champions trophy encounter held at Edgbaston in 2004.
The Wall punched Akhtar’s ball to the offside and took a double. While he was turning for the second run , the bowler slyly came in his way and there was a minor collision before Dravid changed course in order to reach the striker’s end. The Rawalpindi express instead of apologising made an aggressive signal. This infuriated the Bangalorean no end and he charged towards Akhtar before Inzamam defused the situation. The next delivery, Shoaib steamed in but Rahul Dravid In characteristic style swayed away and let the leather go.
