Remember the IPL 2019 when Ravichandran Ashwin mankaded Jos Butler? While the jury was against Ashwin there were also people on the other side of the table who felt that it’s only fair for a batsmen to be penalized for not following the rules.
Interestingly, the current coach of Delhi Capitals, Ricky Ponting is with the jury and seems to be totally convinced about the fact that what Ashwin did wasn’t very kind . The former World Cup winning Australian Captain, Ricky Ponting, added that he will certainly have a chat with Ashwin once in the IPL Bubble and will make sure he doesn’t repeat the feat.
Ponting also felt that ‘Mankad’ is against the spirit of the game and also admitted about warning his team last year to not follow suit after what the Tamil Nadu born off-spinner did to Jos Butler. Having said that, other than the much talked about incident last year, Punter was all praises for Ashwin and was glad to have him as a part of the Delhi Capitals camp.

The Launceston born Ponting also heaped praise on the Indian spinner and truly believed that the experience and value he would add towards the Delhi Capitals would be pure gold. Meanwhile, cricket fans worldwide certainly can’t keep calm as the much awaited IPL 2020 is finally set to get underway.
