24th April is a date that all cricket fans in India have been very well-versed with for the past 3 decades. It happens to be India’s favourite son’s birthday and this year he turns 47 years young. Sachin Tendulkar has been the toast of the nation for a long time and the whole of India celebrates with him. However, in a heartwarming gesture, Tendulkar has decided to not celebrate his birthday this year as a mark if respect for the Covid-19 Warriors.
“Sachin has decided that this is not the time for celebrations. He feels that this is the best tribute he can pay to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics, policemen, defence personnel, who are at the frontline.” a source close to the player told PTI. The batting legend has also been doing his part as an influencer in spreading awareness amongst the masses.
Apart from this, the Master Blaster has also contributed 50 lakh to the PM cares fund and CM relief fund. He is surely leaving upto the ‘Bharat Ratna’ title that was conferred to him by the President of India in 2014. We all wish him a very happy birthday in advance and pray for his long and healthy life.
