Mahendra Singh Dhoni once quoted that he never thought he would ever get an opportunity to meet Sachin Tendulkar. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar has expressed numerous times that Dhoni is the best captain he has ever played under. Such is the respect the duo has for each other which is certainly very heartening.
In a recent Interview, Mahendra Singh Dhoni made quite an interesting statement. A kind of statement which is winning hearts ever since. The wicket-keeper batsman let everyone know that it’s Tendulkar who has taught not only him but all the members of the Indian Cricket Team the art of humility and how to digest success.
He truly believed that Tendulkar has been an inspiration for many to take up this beautiful game and was surprised about how humble could one be after all the limelight he gets. He also expressed his desire to earn even half the respect someone like a Tendulkar has earned throughout his life.
Meanwhile, Dhoni has been in great form and recently also won the ‘Man Of The Series’ award in Australia. The Jharkhand born wicket-keeper batsman would be hoping for another good series at home against the Aussies in what would be India’s last few One Day International Games before the ICC World Cup 2019. Dhoni is expected to play a crucial role for India during the World Cup as his experience would be pure gold. Not only could he guide Virat Kohli during the key moments of the game but could also guide the spinners during those all-important middle overs. Not to forget the role he plays of anchoring the innings and keeping it all together!
Meanwhile, what he said about Sir Sachin Tendulkar and the fact that he and many have learned humility for him- ” Well Said Dhoni, very well Said”! Having said that, they don’t make men like Mahendra Singh Dhoni either and we will leave it to that.
