A section of the jury believed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni was a little rusty during the first ODI. Having said that, the wicket-keeper batsman scored yet another century during the 2nd and it was certainly a lot quicker than the first one- A complaint many had against Dhoni.
Come the big day, the big man stood up yet again as Dhoni once again made sure to ensure that his team crosses the finishing line. He was promoted at number 4 as Ambati Rayudu was given a break by Virat Kohli and Dhoni made sure to make it count by helping India win the series in style!
This was India’s first ever ODI series win in Australia and the fact that they also won a historic test series made it all the more special. They lost the first ODI and it could have been all over just like the test series when they were trailing 2-1 but when the going gets tough, the tough gets going and that’s exactly what happened in the case of the Indian Cricket Team.
Virat Kohli and his army will not go back to India and will go to New Zealand instead to play a T20 and ODI series before they come back home to face the mighty Australians in yet another ODI series. Meanwhile, everyone has been celebrating India’s victory on Twitter ever since. Here is how Twitter reacted to India’s dominant series win in Australia.
When was the last time we saw two mix-ups between Dhoni-Kohli in the same innings, let alone two overs? Some thanks to Khawaja's late stop on the second one, but still… #AusvInd

They call it a Commentators curse when a batsman gets dismissed as he is receiving praise from the Commentary box. Virat today got a New Bat’s curse it seems, 44 with the old bat, change of bat and nicked one behind for 46. Looks an interesting chase now.

Big supporter of Jadeja as a Test spinner but cringe every time he plays ahead of Chahal and Kuldeep in white ball cricket.#AUSvIND

Jadhav hits a 4, puts Siddle under pressure and makes him bowl wide, and somehow Manjrekar and Uthappa have managed to credit Dhoni for all those events. Matlab kuch bhi bc. #AUSvIND

One day cricket is brilliant, there’s room for all formats. 50 over cricket should be embraced, starting with domestic comp! IMO. #AUSvsIND

Wonderful calm, composed innings from Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav playing a very important hand. So India do the double, win the test and the one-day series as well. This has been a very fruitful Australia tour for Team India .
