In what will be great news for cricket lovers around the world and even greater news for Cricket Australia, the much awaited India-Australia series will most likely take place and may happen amidst players in their isolation. It must be said that Australia has well and truly controlled the pandemic and the curve has fallen sharply.
Arun Dhumal the treasurer of the BCCI and former BCCI President Anura Thakur’s brother has confirmed the news which will be music to CA’s ears. “There is no choice – everyone will have to do that. You would want to resume the cricket,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald. The tour is worth $300 Million dollars for the Cricket Australia and could be a make or break for the board.
“Two weeks is not that long a lockdown. That would be ideal for any sportsman because when you are in quarantine for such a long period, then going to another country and having a two-week lockdown it would be a good thing to do. We’ll have to see what the norms are post this lockdown,” Dhumal added. However some reports that it would become a five tests match tour instead of four was not confirmed.
