Just a couple of weeks remain to the auction of IPL 2019. More than 1000 cricketers have thrown their names into the hat to be auctioned off to the 8 franchises. Even as it has some colossal names from the cricketing world, the list also featured three names from Associate cricket- Anshuman Rath from Hong Kong, Ali Khan from the United States of America, and Steven Myburgh from The Netherlands.
Among the three, Khan has been able to bag most of the limelight and will go under the hammer on December 18 at a base price of INR 40 lakhs ($62,000). He played for Trinbago Knight Riders in this year’s Caribbean Premier League (IPL) and finished with 16 wickets in 12 wickets. He also plied his trade his in the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) and the T10 League. Recently the 27-year-old fast bowler spoke about his desire to be part of the IPL. He hopes that he would get an opportunity to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders this season as he has already represented its sister franchise Trinbago Knightriders in the CPL. We will soon know if Ali Khan will make the cut and earn the big bucks in the IPL.
