Twitter goes berserk as cricketers wish Sachin Tendulkar on his 47th birthday
In India it’s oft-repeated that if cricket is religion then Sachin is god. The charisma of the man is such that he has fans across age groups, gender, income groups and borders. The man responsible for inspiring millions to pick up the bat and break windows celebrates his 47th birthday today.
What sets him apart from other champions of sport is the sheer humility and graciousness he carries himself with even after having a ‘more than a Maradona’ fanaticism surrounding him. If one just looks at the sheer number of people who wanted the master to do well it boggles the mind how the Mumbaikar remained so calm in the middle.
