Watch: Harbhajan Singh imitates Sachin Tendulkar after scoring a test century vs New Zealand
Harbhajan Singh has been one of the great characters of not just Indian cricket, but world cricket. It is often said that cricket thrives on two things, that is rivalries and characters. Harbhajan Singh was one of the agents of change in Indian cricketers under Sourav Ganguly. Frankly speaking, Indian teams before Dada had a reputation of being timid and it was under the Prince of Kolkata that the change took place.
When youngsters like Harbhajan, Yuvraj, Sehwag and Zaheer were blooded in, the Indian team’s performances and attitude changed on the field. In fact, Harbhajan was involved in a fair share of altercations, be it Ponting or Symonds. Having said that Bhajji was also one of those players who would always crack a joke and lighten the mood in the dressing room.
His sense of humour made him a team favourite, be it juniors like Kohli and Rohit or seniors like Laxman and Tendulkar. Harbhajan forged a great relationship with the Master Blaster and the two would quite often be seen together. The Jalandhar born’s batting peak came when he hit back to back centuries against New Zealand in 2010 and on one of those occasions he even imitated Tendulkar after reaching the milestone. It was a brilliant moment where he dedicated the century to the man with a 100 of them but also quite funny at the same time.
