Watch: PCB boss Ramiz Raja acts furiously with Indian journalist, attempts to grab his telephone for question on Pakistan ‘awam’

The fans witnessed a much surprise ending to this years Asia Cup, one side it was Pakistan the much expected team to be in the final and the other side it was Sri Lanka, who were not given any chance to even make it to the final, let alone winning it.

The Lankan lions showed nerves of still as they clinched the title in a thrilling encounter in the final. Pakistan Cricket Board, boss Ramiz Raja was left baffled after the defeat of the Pakistan team and after the match the PCB chief ended up misbehaving with a reputed Indian journalist, so much so that he even tried to snatch his phone.

Sri Lanka Cricket Team crushed Pakistan Cricket Team by 23 runs in the Asia Cup 2022 title match, to take their Asia Cup tally to 6, only one behind India. In general, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have gone head to head in 4 Asia Cup finals with the former winning in 1986, 2014 and 2022 while the latter arose triumphant in 2000.

In the mean time, Sri Lanka’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who played a fantastic knock of 71 runs off 45 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, won the Player of the Match. Likewise, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, who bagged 9 wickets in 6 Asia Cup games and scored 66 runs, took away the Man of the Series award.

After the game, a couple of writers and fans circumnavigated Ramiz outside the arena and got some information about his perspectives on the match. Among them, there was a reputed Indian journalist, Rohit Juglan, who inquired as to whether he had a directive for the Pakistani public back home who might be very frustrated after the misfortune against Sri Lanka in the match.

The PCB boss, who was not by any stretch feeling great after Pakistan’s misfortune, got bothered at the Indian reporters inquiry and begun countering the writer for utilizing the word ‘awaam’. Likewise, Ramiz grabbed the telephone of Rohit, to stop the recording prior to giving it back to him and leaving.

Here’s a transcription of the entire conversation between Ramiz Raja and the Indian journalist:

Journalist: “Awam badi nakhush hai. Unke lie koi sandesh? (The people must be unhappy. Any message for them?)

Ramiz Raja: “Dekhie aap India se honge, aapke (awam) toh bohut khush honge.” (You must be from India, your people must be very happy).

Journalist: “Hum khush nahi hai. (No, we are not happy).”

Ramiz Raja: “Kaunsi awam? (Which people?)”

Journalist: “Maine dekha hai Pakistan k logo ko rote hue jate. Kya main ghalat bol raha hu Ramiz bhai? (I’ve seen Pakistani fans go back crying after the loss. Am I saying something wrong?”)

Ramiz Raja: “Aap awam ko generalise kar rahe hai. (You are generalising ‘the people’)

 

Meanwhile,, this is absolutely shocking behaviour by Rameez Raja and Cric Crak stands with Rohut Juglan on this one. We as Indians are proud of the way another Rohit of the cricketing world handled the entire situation.

 

Meanwhile, lets hope that the ICC takes note of the entire situation at the earliest possible and we will leave it to that.
