Young sensation Riyan Parag’s controversial over to batting maestro Chris Gayle raised many eyebrows. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, Parag, who usually bowls leg spin, had a trick up his sleeves. The spinner bowled a low round arm delivery to Gayle as the batter tapped it for a single.
The out-of-the-box tactics didn’t go down too well with the umpire, however, he got away with it. Parag then went on to bowl more conventional deliveries and ended up getting the prized wicket of Gayle. Interestingly, it was an off-spin delivery unlike his traditional stock ball- which is a leg-break. Clearly, the experiment worked for Parag and the Royals.

Gayle looked to be in good touch. The southpaw perished for 40. Punjab Kings pressed on the accelerator from there on. While KL Rahul hit a blistering fifty, Deepak Hooda joined the party in no time and reached his half-century in mere 20 deliveries.
Punjab are yet to lift the coveted trophy and that makes the ongoing season all important. The franchise recently unveiled their brand new jersey in a bid to change their fortunes. The Wankhede stadium is well-known for producing high-scoring encounters and the ongoing game looks to be a cracker of a contest.
