Sachin Tendulkar with the bat is a picture of calmness and one can feel the magic. He is as unfazed at the batting crease as the sea is at low tide. In fact there have been many times where the opposition has made it a point not to sledge the Mumbaikqr, be it McGrath or Akhtar so as to not poke the bear.
Sreesanth on the other hand, is at the exact opposite end of the spectrum and be it his rituals at the top of his run up or his demeanour on the field, the man is anything but calm. In the Irani Trophy match of 2012-13 season, ‘fire’ was bowling to ‘ice’ and there was great anticipation in the air.
Sreesanth who had made a name for himself by getting Tendulkar LBW in a challenger series match in the mid 2000’s that eventually led to his India selection, bowled a fiery bouncer that struck Sachin on the shoulder. As expected, there wasn’t even a grimace from the Master. What happened next ball was a sight for sore eyes. A good length delivery that was met with a beautiful straight bat and a trademark Tendulkar straight drive which wasn’t more than a punch.
