CSK has always been that sort of team which snatches a victory from the jaws of defeat. It is the spirit of the captain and the coach that rubs off on the team and they find a way to win. However, historically that cannot be said about the RCB team. They often find ways to lose a game in their pocket.
Even though head to head, the yellow army has dominated the team in red, there have been some classical encounters involving the two southern rivals. This one was played in the 2012 IPL when Virat was still a relative youngster and fancied himself as an all rounder.
Daniel Vettori was the RCB captain and CSK needed 43 runs from two overs. Albie Morkel was the only recognised batsman left and the match seemed all but over. In a surprising move, Vettori threw that ball to Virat who was taken to the cleaners by Morkel and conceded 28 runs. Ultimately RCB went on to lose the match.
