Indian fans all over the globe are totally shell- shocked as the Indian Cricket Team went down to Sri Lanka by 6 wickets . Nobody thought India will only have a mathematical chance to make it to the Super 4 as the men in blue started as favourites to win the tournament .

While Sri Lanka invited India to bat first – India recovered after 2 early wickets of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul with a partnership between the captain and SKY and no other batsman could really get going. At one stage India looked good to get 190 but the Lankan Tigers were brilliant at the death.

The Sri Lankan openers came out all guns blazing Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis came out all guns blazing and put Sri Lanka in the most comfy position with a 97 run partnership . An on- fire Yuzvendra Chahal did help India get back in the game with 3 quick strikes but Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Dasun Shanaka made sure there were no further hiccups in the Lankan Captain.

Rohit Sharma in a post match press conference pointed out that the main reason for India’s defeat was the fact that they were 10-12 runs short after the first innings. The captain praised his bowlers who gave it their all and backed his players to do well in the upcoming World Cup while giving credit to Sri Lanka at the same time.
