The left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh was released by the Kings XI Punjab as he only managed to score a mere 65 runs during his six appearances in the IPL 2018.
Like Yuvi often fights it out to find form back- Nothing of that sorts happened, unfortunately, this time around as he did not make it to back to the Indian Cricket Team either. Yes, he had an average Ranji season but everyone expected more than surface level initiatives from the southpaw from Punjab.
Having said that, nobody would have thought that someone like a Yuvraj could go unsold in an IPL auction- No not even in round 1. Singh got second time lucky though when the Ambanis came to his rescue and cashed it by signing the veteran for just 1 Crore. When asked about how he felt about that Yuvraj quoted, ” “The hunger is there, I’m not playing for the sake of playing. I am playing because I want to play and I’m passionate about playing. Hopefully, in this season I will be able to deliver.”
Surprisingly he also admitted that he wasn’t expecting a call-up in the first round either considering the franchises like to go in with youngsters in the format. He was glad that he was picked up Mumbai though and even admitted to having a gut feeling about it. The 2 times World- Cup winner was also happy that Akash Ambani had good things to say about him and showed him a lot of respect.
The southpaw also mentioned that during the previous season he batted at various positions which hampered his flow and he is keen to turn it around for the ‘Mumbai Paltan’ this time around.
